Series 9

Alas my 'Friends' watching days came to an end when my term in China finished and I had to come back, and no longer had access to Adam's laptop full of downloaded episodes! I forget which series I was up to...

Then at the library the other day I found 2 tapes from series 9!! I can tell you, the first couple of epsidoes I was a bit confused about who lived where, with whom, was dating whom, and had kids! I laugh every time, no matter how many times I've seen an epsiode, but watching "new" ones is such a great way to spend a quiet night in! Reminded me of the good ol' days in Beijing :)

Malaysia, here I come!

Yep, in a month's time I will be living in Kuala Lumpur, working for a small HR-focussed firm that started off doing outsourced HR and now also does training, online resources and some consulting - yay! :)

Will be great to hang out with Sharms some more, and to work again with Fabien!

Can't wait to be a trainee again! :)

Tickets

YES Michael has a ticket BOOKED to go to Russia for his English-teaching adventure! Maybe you guys can catch up there Pierre! :)

I'm now the only one in my family with no current airline ticket!!

No rush, it's sooooo nice chilling out here at the moment with no study lurking around the corner! Enjoying some of the many joys that living in Adelaide has to offer while I can! :)
Can anyone tell me why dark brown shoes are reduced to $49, but the same ones in black are only reduced to $79?

Or why a purple singlet is reduced to $15, but the same one in black is still $35?

Isn't this some form of discrimination?

What if I'm "classic" (aka boring and trying to make sure everything can be mix & matched!)?

Oh well, at least I got a heap of end-of-financial-year sales bargains already! Maybe it's better this way! :)

Yeah, it’s been aaages since I blogged, but only cos I know what a terrible form of procrastination for study it can be! Here’s a quick update on what’s been going on with me:

Peanut butter in-a-biskit was spotted at Woolies – seriously. Vegemite was genius, this is just… weird. No, I shouldn’t really comment as I haven’t tried them, but it’s really not a very appealing idea for me, I’ll have to save that challenge for another time!

Another birthday marked the passing of another year! Thanks to all who emailed, SMSed, called, or joined me in celebrating! Much appreciated! AND to all of those who made the last year a good one! :)

Our beloved Golden Retriever Jason, aged 14, reached the end of a happy long life. We miss him heaps and remember him fondly!

People running in public libraries – a phenomenon twice observed during my countless hours spent at the State Library in recent weeks. It’s a little unnerving initially, then slightly amusing! It’s so… unexpected. And, to be honest, what is the need to run? Where are the books going?

Final exams as an undergrad – YAY! Freedom! Well, results pending… :s OH and for all you Adelaide Uni guys out there… I think they might have changed the guy with the announcement voice for exams! Well, yeah, it was a woman for one exam, so I’m sure it wasn’t him! ;) It was so weird hearing someone else recite those time-honoured warnings and instructions. *sigh*

World Cup – MY GOSH! Unfortunately Australia went out just before I finished exam study, so I didn’t get to see any games (the whole middle of the night thing put me off a bit). And what a way to go out! Man… well, the good part is that it feels as though the whole country is behind them. Traditionally soccer(!) has never been very big here, but the media around it has been huge, shops have flags and scarves in the windows (we’re wearing soccer t-shirts at work for a World Cup promo we have going on!) and everywhere you go you hear people talking about it – despite the fact that the games are on in the middle of the night! So I’m feeling very patriotic right now :)

News - Sahlih is coming to Sydney for a traineeship! I hope we can catch up, and in any case I know they’ll take good care of you there! Best of luck!

Our house is looking… white! We have a new ceiling in the family room, complete with shiny white paint, to replace the old flood damaged one that had been getting more and increasingly large brown spots on it over the years! Hmm, never seen anyone ‘build’ a ceiling… would have been interesting to watch, except I had things like uni and work, and from the looks of things would have ended up covered from head to toe in white dust! And with the washing machine breaking down last week, and the fridge slowing getting worse and worse, they’ve both been replaced with shiny white new ones! Smaller of course – Mum and Dad are getting close to becoming Empty Nesters! :)

Well, that’s news with me for now! Hope you had a great weekend wherever you are! :)
