A whole new world...

I've crossed the railway line, and I feel as though I really am in a whole new world. I've moved from (the dodgy end of) Bangsar, one of the expat areas, to Brickfields, the most Indian part of KL.

Just 15 minutes walk away and...
  • Clothes shops are mostly full of gorgeous pubjabi suits and saris
  • There are stalls everywhere selling brightly coloured flowers
  • Most of the restaurants are Indian
  • Most of the people I see are Indian
  • The music I hear always sounds Indian - to me, anyway
  • I haven't found fetta cheese or miso soup mix at the supermarket (I may just not know where to look, but I think it might be more that that...)
I'm glad that I moved, despite the confused looks when I tell people where I moved from and to. Yes it's further from the gym, I miss my housemates, and both the apartment & the area are much less glamorous. But I'm discovering a whole new side of KL. And it's coooooool :)

Got a question to ask you about AIESEC traineeships in China. Unfortunately I can't find your email anywhere on this site, and I don't know if you're still using your old hotmail addy...
Could you email me some time? Cheers! (evanelam AT gmail dot com)
