Summer :)

This time next week I will be on summer holidays - yay! Apart from all the usual stuff associated with the merriment of Christmas in Adelaide, what will I be doing?
  • Working - hopefully heaps, so I can save lots of money!
  • Practicing Chinese - more Pimsleur lessons - I've only done 18 :(
  • Cooking - I want to try to make quiche & lasagna, and learn some more ways to cook fish...
  • Laughing - There's a laughing club that meets weekly, and I haven't been able to go yet cos it's when I have class.. but I'm keen to check it out! :)
  • Reading - The list so far is:
  1. Recollections of a Bleeding Heart: A Portrait of Paul Keating PM by Don Watson (Ralph)
  2. The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet (Ben)
  3. Monsoon by Wilbur Smith (Ben)
  4. Guns, Germs and Steel by Jared Diamond - I'm part way through! (Monika)
  5. Managing Employee Performance by Richard S. Williams (I bought it for a subject I didn't do, but it looks fascinating!)
  • Exercising - Create a new walking 'route' - variety is the spice of life!
  • Chilling - With anyone who'd like to join me, especially Chris while she's here, and with Laura and Loz and Sharms before they leave! Potential locations include the beach, cafes and wineries..
  • Picnic-ing - When was the last time I participated in an out-of-doors feast?
  • Volunteering - I'm not sure where yet, probably the Red Cross in an inner city program
  • Coding - I want to create a personal webpage, to make use of the HTML tutorial I did a few months ago, and to see if I can use Frontpage..
  • Pondering - My life, life in general, what the future could hold...

Hey,
I can definitely recommend Pillars of the Earth and Moonsoon, I've read both of them, very good.
The book I'm reading at the moment, which is a little different and certainly helps for reflection is 'What should I do with my life?' by Po Benson.

Give it a go. Also it makes a cameo appearance in the moive Bewitched! That is not a recommendation to see the movie by the way, only see it if you need a total chill out movie.

Hey Flic,

How is Guns, germs and steel? I've been wanting to read it for a long time because of the issues it deals with.

And laughing clubs.. that's something that started back in India.. everyone's who's been to it highly reccomends it. And people who walk by as these guys 'exercise' also get a good laugh out of it, since it mostly happens in public parks.

Hey flic,

It is so hectic. I haven't checked your email for ages. I am now in AIESEC Malaysia's MC office. Today I got a 1 year multiple entry business VISA. I really hope I can make more than 1 trip to see you and your country. I am sure the coming Christmas holiday will be a good time for us to catch up and for me to see a bit of Australia!

Director life is incredible. I got quite a lot to share with you once we meet! ;-)

Take care, babe!
